Operation Christmas Child collects shoebox gifts— filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items—and delivers them to children in need around the world. In addition to collecting shoeboxes this year, we will be collecting specific items and our youth groups will pack the boxes during National Collection Week.  Church family are asked to bring your gift-filled boxes, or donations by November 10th.  The following items MAY NOT BE included in a shoebox:  candy; toothpaste; gum; used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives, or military figures; chocolate or food; seeds; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; aerosol cans.  For more information about Operation Christmas Child please contact Andrea Niggli, aniggli@gcfcortland.org, or go to  https://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child
